Manufacturers and die & mold shops can banish chatter problems in several milling operations with Iscar's brand new Chatterfree carbide endmill. The cutters' variable-pitch flute pattern eliminates harmonic vibration, the foremost source of chatter. This facilitates faster cutting and finer finish in rough or finish slotting, shoulder milling and cavity milling. In addition, customers also report longer edge life due to reduced chatter. The chatter-free attribute is presented in both solid carbide endmills and tips in Iscar's MULTI-MASTER replaceable-tip family. Diameter range is 6 to 20mm for the solid carbide endmills, and 8 to 20mm for MULTI-MASTER tips. These revolutionary endmills are ideal for low power machines with ISO40 or BT40 adaptations. The solid carbide construction can deal with full slot machining up to 2xD. Depth capability on the replaceable-tip variant is more limited since the active length is shorter. In full slotting operations on alloy steel, the solid carbide construction successfully handles 0.03-0.05 feed rates at 180-220mm/min surface speed and 2xD depth of cut.

FINISHRED - Revolutionary Solid Carbide Endmills

Iscar is releasing the EFR.. B44 and the MM EFS.. Finishred a revolutionary solid carbide endmill family. The Finishred carbide endmill is a combination of both roughing and finishing endmills in a single tool. Roughing endmills remove material from work pieces more quickly and proficiently than typical endmills. However, roughing endmills leave grooves on the machined surface. In consequence, after using a roughing endmill, a finishing endmill needs to be used in order to obtain a flush surface finish. This means time-consuming tool change, setup time and inevitably of maintaining two endmill types in the stock.

Features of the Finishred Endmills:

The EFR.. B44 and the MM EFS.. endmills feature 4 flutes with 45 degree helix, 2 serrated flutes and 2 continuous flutes.

The cutting edges of the finishing flutes are radially further from the tool axis than the cutting edges of the serrated flutes. The finishing flutes eliminate the grooves caused by the roughing flutes, leaving a smooth surface finish.

The tool is fully efficient and enables running at rough machining parameters, ending in finish surface quality.

The unique tool design reduces vibration at high load applications.

The tool generates short and long chips concurrently. This chip mixture is evacuated more efficiently than each individual chip type, an excellent solution in slotting and cavity milling applications.

The Finishred is also offered with the Multi-Master indexable milling head option which merges the Finishred includes with the benefit of little setup time, no regrinding costs and the extended range of shank and extension options are available for the Multi-Master milling heads.

A single tool replaces the roughing and finishing endmills; therefore decreasing stock.

Tool change and setup time can be discarded.

An extra tool position is gained on the machine

New Chip Splitting Solid Carbide Endmills for Elevated Metal Removal Rates

ISCAR is announcing the ECP-3/4L family of chip splitting endmills. The revolutionary endmills are offered with three and four 38 degree flutes in grade IC900. They feature 2xD and long shanks with downsized neck diameter, which facilitate machining along high shoulders, at high feeds. These endmills, due to their chip splitting function and force distribution can be used very effectively on reduced power machines (CAT40/BT40/ISO40). The serrated cutting edge incorporates flat peaks which leave a better surface finish, in relation to the current rougher carbide endmill. The ECP endmills are favored for machining austenitic and martensitic stainless steel, at up to 2xD depth of cut. They can be used on alloyed steel as well. All of the preliminary tests conducted at various customers' locations showed superb results.

Some Of The Countless Improvements In Carbide Inserts Coming From Iscar From Over The Years
Iscar is introducing a new unique milling system with tangential, clamped, butterfly-shaped LNKX carbide inserts. The butterfly-shaped insert has significant advantages compared to the current flat, square shapes. The new geometry has more cutting edges, positive rake face, reduced cutting forces resulting in higher performance.

Brand New Cutters And Carbide Insert Configurations From Iscar To Better Improve The Machining Process
Iscar is introducing Penta 34 carbide inserts with a new PB chipformer. The PB chipformer features a single cavity with a positive rake, neutral shoulder angle, and a honed edge. It is actually a C-type chipformer with a different frontal edge.

Many Progressions Have Enlarged Iscar's Families Of Indexable Endmills For Heightened Productivity
Helido-Upfeed 04 Two years ago Iscar introduced the extremely efficient H600 indexable endmill line, based on conceptually new Helido-Upfeed double sided inserts with 6 cutting edges. The first insert launched was the H600 WXCU 0806..., which was designed for milling cutters in the diameter range of 50 to 125 mm.
