My lovely is preparing for her wedding for the end of June. I decided to have a wedding shower for her at our place. Her all-time flowers have always been daisies and carnations. I went to the area farmers market the day before the shower & bought large bunches of daisies and carnations to make flower arrangements for the shower. I had stopped at the floral shop the week before to buy arrangements, but after finding out the costs I decided to make them myself. The florist is the one that suggested that I go to the farmers market to purchase the flowers, specifically since they were both in season. I thought it may be like a flea market as well, & I could get some wholesale wedding favors. By purchasing the flowers that were in season I was able to get an even better price.
When I got back to my house from the farmers market I cut the stems of the daisies & carnations to different lengths and made flower arrangements in three crystal vases to place around the home. I still had sufficient flowers left to do a little arrangement for the bathrooms. It is always a nice touch to place fresh-cut flowers in the bathroom when you are entertaining. When you do your own flower arrangements you can utilize your own vases, which adds to the personalized touch.
The morning of the wedding shower I checked the flowers to see if they required more water. They were still appearing fresh & the bright colors of the flowers made the rooms feels warm and homey.
My niece enjoyed the lovely & lovely presents that the guests had brought. And she hadn't even seen the wholesale wedding favors I bought yet! We visited & gave pieces of advice to the bride about having a long & glad marriage. I had framed some pictures that I had gotten from the mother of the bride and mom of the groom. I had pics of the 2 of them growing up as well as photos of the 2 of them on various vacations that they have taken together. My niece was so pleased with these that she decided to use them at the wedding day reception also, together with the wholesale wedding favors. We also ate a light lunch & had cake that I had also adorned with fresh-cut flowers.
